LockSense – Functional Description

LockSense is a part of Quantum Connect that indicates to the driver in the cab if the attachment is correctly coupled. Either one or both of the machine quick coupler and the tiltrotator quick coupler can be equipped with Locksense. LockSense reduces the risk of accidentally dropping a worktool when coupling.

LockSense consists of several parts;

Two independent LockSense locking wedges (1)  that detect the coupling status when changing worktools, which is transmitted by radio to the Quantum Connectivity Gateway (QCG) (2), which should be mounted high up inside the cabin, e.g. against the window. The QCG communicates with the locking wedges via radio and with other surrounding system components via CAN bus. 

The LockSense status is displayed on Quantum Connectivity Display (3) or in some cases directly in the machine HMI. A service technician can customize the system settings from the Quantum Connect mobile app.
