    Steelwrist celebrates 20 years as a company!

    During 20 years in business the company has grown significantly, quickly becoming the global player it is today, represented in 19 countries. Throughout the year the anniversary will be celebrated with customers and partners.

  • 2024

    Launch of Steelwrist third generation tiltrotators

    At a major launch event at Steelwrist new location in Hamburg, Germany, the company’s third generation tiltrotator is launched, the XTR20.

    At the same time rotor couplers and an updated range of powered work tools are presented.

  • Move to new facility with assembly capacity in North America

    The new headquarters for the North American operations is inaugurated with attendance by US senator Richard Blumenthal. With increased capacity and improved infrastructure, Steelwrist is gearing up for local assembly of products for the North American market.

  • 2023

    Success at Conexpo

    Exhibiting at the Conexpo show in Las Vegas, USA, for the third time, Steelwrist demonstrates its success in the North American market. Only six years after entering the market the tiltrotator concept is quickly gaining traction among contractors.

  • New facilities inaugurated in Finland and France

    As the demand for Steelwrist products is increasing the investment in new facilities is made to further strengthen the presence in Finland and France. The aim is to increase productivity and facilitate supply logistics by directly delivering from local stock.

  • 2022

    Acquisition of Sjoerring Maskinfabrik

    The parent company Terratech acquires Sjoerring Maskinfabrik in Denmark. With the acquisition a global hub and manufacturing unit for mechanical work tools is established.

  • Enters Chinese market

    Steelwrist establish own organisation in China.

  • Expanding the product range with XTR2 and SQ50

    With the introduction of XTR2, the smallest model is added to the tiltrotator range. Designed for excavators below 2 tonnes.

    The range of SQ couplers and tiltrotators is expanded with the introduction of the SQ50 size. A fully automatic and Open-S compliant solution for mid-sized excavators.

     

  • 2021

    SQ90 added to the range of automatic couplers

    Introduction of the biggest model in the range of SQ automatic couplers so far, SQ90, targeted toward excavators up to 70 tonnes in the demolition industry. SQ90 as well as all other Steelwrist SQ products follow the global Open-S industry standard.

  • 2020

    Open-S Alliance founded

    As a joint initative between Steelwrist and Rototilt the independent organization Open-S Alliance is founded. The aim is to create an open industry standard for automatic couplers for excavators. Today, the growing global alliance has 14 members.

  • TCX tilt coupler for the smallest excavators launched

    TCX tilt coupler, designed for excavators below 2 tonnes, offering the user a tilt function and an integrated coupler for changing between work tools.

  • Sweden's Best Managed Company award

    Steelwrist receives the Sweden’s Best Managed Companies award, sponsored by Deloitte in cooperation with Nasdaq, the first time in 2020. Until today the company has received the award for five consecutive years.

  • 2019

    Solix acquires Terratech

    The Swedish investment company Solix acquires Terratech AB, with the daughter companies Steelwrist and SVAB. The acquisition is part of Solix’s strategy to acquire Nordic industrial companies with a strong product portfolio and with significant international growth potential.

  • Enters the Oceania and Polish markets

    Sales and service organizations are established in Australia, New Zealand and Poland.

  • 2018

    Headoffice and production moves to Rosersberg

    The company moves to a new head office and manufacturing facility of 13 500 square meters in Rosersberg, Sweden, which more than doubles the production capacity.

  • Enters Italian and Japanese markets

    The global expansion continues with Steelwrist entering Italy and Japan with its own organization.

  • Instagram presence

    The foundation for Steelwrist social media presence is established with the creation of the steelwrist_official Instagram account. Today it has more than 40 000 followers.

  • 2017

    SQ technology is introduced

    As a part of the strategy to create a global standard for automatic quick couplers for excavators, the SQ Auto Connection system is launched.

    Steelwrist SQ technology allows the operator to change between hydraulic powered work tools, as well as mechanical work tools, in only seconds – all without leaving the cab.

  • Enters North American and
    Korean markets

    With the creation of Steelwrist Inc, headquarted in Connecticut, USA, the tiltrotator technology is introduced to the virgin markets in North America. At the same time Steelwrist establish its first sales and service organization in Asia, entering into the Korean market.

  • 2016

    New brand identity

    After celebrating more than 10 years as a company, a new Steelwrist logo is introduced. The foundation for building a brand that people across the world have an emotional connection to.

  • Acquisition of SVAB

    Steelwrist acquires SVAB after several years of successful collaboration. In connection with the acquisition the parent company Terratech is created.

  • 2015

    Enters French market and signs new OEM agreement

    Following the successful cooperation with Volvo CE in France, Steelwrist establish its own sales and service organization.

    An additional OEM agreement is reached with JCB.

  • 2014

    Enters German market

    As the expansion of the tiltrotator concept continues to grow in Europe, Steelwrist establish its sales organization in Germany. Lehnhoff interface is added to the tiltrotator product range.

  • Introduction of the largest tiltrotator model, X32

    The X32 tiltrotator is launched and added to the product range for large excavators, covering machines up to 33 tonnes.

  • 2013

    Yanmar OEM agreement

    OEM agreement with Yanmar Construction Equipment enables factory fit of tiltrotators from Steelwrist.

  • X20 tiltrotator is introduced

    The X20 tiltrotator is launched and couplers with Front Pin Lock are introduced also on tiltrotators.

  • 2012

    A new level of safety with Front Pin Lock

    Steelwrist launches quick couplers with Front Pin Lock (FPL), a patented mechanical solution that enhances safety on symmetrical quick couplers.

  • 2011

    Launch of the first steel cast tiltrotator, X07

    Through large investments in product development, the world’s first fully steel cast tiltrotator, the X07, is launched. The tiltrotator portfolio now consists of five different models, covering excavators from 2-26 tonnes.

  • 2010

    ISO certification and cooperation with SVAB

    The company is ISO certified for Quality (ISO9001) and Environment (ISO14001).

    A second generation of the tiltrotator control system, XControl, is developed and launched in cooperation with SVAB.

  • 2009

    First OEM agreement and move to new facility

    First OEM agreement, with Volvo CE, lays the foundation for Steelwrist’s early growth.

    The company moves into a new production facility at Bäckvägen in Sollentuna, Sweden.

  • Enters the UK market

    Steelwrist establish its presence in the UK and starts to sell tiltrotators and quick couplers.

  • 2008

    Launch of control system and quick couplers

    Steelwrist launches the first generation of the tiltrotator control system, XControl, and steel casted quick couplers.

  • 2007

    Enters the Danish market

    Expansion in the Nordics continues as Steelwrist starts to sell its products in Denmark.

  • 2006

    First Steelwrist tiltrotator delivered

    The first Steelwrist tiltrotator, an X18, is delivered to the customer Erik Johansson, E:L Mark AB, in Sala, Sweden.

  • Early expansion into new markets

    The tiltrotator technology has already gained traction in the Nordic markets and Steelwrist early on establish presence in Norway and Finland.

    In parallell Steelwrist launches tiltrotators with CW couplers thanks to a cooperation with Verhoeven, and enters into the Benelux market.

     

  • 2005

    Steelwrist is founded

    Steelwrist is founded by Stefan Stockhaus and Markus Nilsson. The goal is to develop a new generation of tiltrotators.

    The company moves in to its first facility, a former bus garage, in Vallentuna, Sweden.
